London Trip – Anonymous Artists

20Apr10

Just over a week ago we went on a class trip to london to see the Decode exhibition in the V&A. But before I write about that, I discovered something else in london while just walking around that is as relevant to my project as anything could ever be.(intrigued yet?)

While walking down the road I passed what seemed to be an empty shop with hundreds of blank yellow post-it notes in the window. I peered inside to find a strange mix of arts and crafts of various forms and a couple of people looking around. After talking to the people inside it appeared I had stumbled on a project by a group called Anonymous Artists. I was told that this group had gotten hold of this empty shop right next to the famous Harrods department store for free. And then gave the space to 8 different artists and craftsmen to use however they wished for a whole week. I had pretty much walked into my own project except based around arists only.
